Monday, January 17, 2022 (HOL) – The chairman of the opposition UCID party, Faisal Ali Warabe, has welcomed the ruling of the court in the dispute over the opening of political parties in Somaliland.
Faisal, who was strongly opposed to Law No. 14/21, which was part of the amendments and additions made by the previous House of Representatives, applauded the court’s decision to repeal 14/21 and implement a previously agreed Rule 14/11. .
“We consider today’s decision by the court to be a victory for the nation of Somaliland, as it has repealed and repealed the enacted law that was a threat to Somaliland, which it returned to in 2011, which “It is a clear and agreed upon system of rights that has never been used,” said Faisal.
Faisal said the party was preparing for the Somaliland presidential election.
“So it is a victory insha’Allah, we are preparing for the presidential election, and the next election is up to the president to emerge,” Faisal said.
The Constitutional Court annulled the law on the opening of political parties in the amendment to the previous House of Representatives Act No. 14/21, which was the law that created the political controversy, and the court enacted Law No. 14/11 which was previously agreed upon.
The court’s decision pleased both the opposition and the Conservatives.
