Saturday, February 26, 2022 (HOL) – The Somali regional government says a committee will be sent to monitor the distribution of food and water trucks to drought-affected people.
The commission said it was monitoring the distribution of food aid to drought-affected people, as well as water trucking, to ensure that it was distributed properly.
The commission will also take action against those found to have misappropriated or misappropriated food and water for those affected by the drought, Abdirizak Sayid, Deputy Minister in the Office of the President of the Somali Regional State, told state media.
The commission’s findings come as opposition from the Somali regional government has criticized the government for failing to respond to the drought, and for misappropriating funds meant for those affected by the drought.
