Tuesday, March 8, 2022 (HOL) – Lawmaker Abdullahi Godah Barre, one of the candidates running for the remaining seats in Beledweyne, the regional capital of Hiraan region, has strongly condemned the recent clashes between President Hirshabelle and his deputy.
After a disagreement at a meeting between the President of Hirshabelle and his Vice reached a climax, various efforts by members of the Hirshabelle administration to resolve the dispute between the two leaders failed.

In an interview with Universal TV, lawmaker Abdullahi Godah Barre said that their recent meeting with the two top officials in Hirshabelle expressed optimism that the elections in Beledweyne will be held in a transparent, free and fair manner.

Godah Barre said they were aware of a change in attitude toward Hirshabelle Vice President Yusuf Dagabeed, who decided to close the seats to certain candidates, while President Gudlawe rejected them.

“The dispute is based on the recent pressure on the 11 seats to be elected in Beledweyne. The president has agreed to open the seats and run for office while the vice president wants people arrested, during a meeting with the two candidates. “They told him that there was an open contest and they were all satisfied with the candidates but a different statement came and one of them said they wanted to leave the room,” said MP Abdullahi Godah Barre.

Abdullahi Godah Barre also pointed out that Yusuf Dageed does not recognize the presence of the president of Hirshabelle, and they are waiting for a transparent election.

It was on December 18, 2021 when the Vice President of Hirshabelle officially announced in Beledweyne that the seats in Beledweyne are wanted by the people they want, which has now become what he wants to believe in Yusuf Dabaged, and the candidates are opposed to him. Candidate for the seat, including Abdullahi Godah Barre.
