Thursday, March 10, 2022 (HOL) – Kulmiye party spokesman Abdinasir Muhumed Hassan Buni, has reaffirmed his party’s commitment to open political parties ahead of the Somaliland presidential election.
“I want to tell the people that the elections in this country, J Somaliland, will be held in accordance with the law, and that every time there is a competent body, each of them will do its part,” Buni said.
He said the three existing parties are running out of time, and political parties need to be reopened at this time to form three new parties.
“Right now, the term of the three national parties has been 10 years, and the law requires the associations to open, so that three national parties with a party certificate can emerge in the next 10 years,” Buni said.
Opposition parties and the Conservatives in Somaliland are at loggerheads over the timing of the by-elections.
