Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has explained why Mikel Arteta could decide to leave Arsenal this summer despite his recent progress at the Emirates.
Arsenal are the favorites to finish fourth in the Premier League, three points ahead of Tottenham with 10 games to go.
Finishing 4th place will be a fantastic performance for Mikel Arteta given that the team has lost its first 3 games of the season.
But Neville says Arteta will decide to leave Arsenal because Arsenal cannot compete with trophies such as Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“I really like Arsenal. I think he is a fantastic manager. I think Arsenal are a fantastic team compared to young players.”
“But I’m worried he will leave Arsenal when he qualifies for the Champions League because he will be looking for a club that can compete for trophies like Man City and Liverpool.”
