COVID infections in the cast and crew prompted Actors’ Theatre of Columbus to cancel the Thursday and Friday performances of “Hamlet, 1603”, according to artistic director Philip J. Hickman.

Whether performances will resume Saturday and Sunday will depend “first and foremost” on people’s health, Hickman said.

Actors’ Theatre expects to be able to make an informed decision about when to resume performances by Friday afternoon, Hickman said.

The semi-professional troupe, which performs Shakespeare and classic theater every summer in Schiller Park, will post an updated performance schedule by early Friday evening on both its website and on Facebook, Hickman said.

The production is scheduled to run Thursdays through Sundays through June 19.
