Driver killed, passenger hurt after vehicle crashes into Dublin Methodist ER entrance

One person died and another was taken to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist hospital Thursday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into the emergency room entrance at another OhioHealth facility.

The crash was reported around 1 p.m. Thursday at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist hospital, located at 7500 Hospital Drive in Dublin.

OhioHealth confirmed the vehicle crashed into one of the hospitals emergency department entrances.

The driver of the vehicle appeared to be having a medical emergency of an unknown nature and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. A passenger inside the vehicle was taken to Riverside for treatment.

There were no injuries reported to patients, employees or visitors to the hospital.

OhioHealth confirmed that the hospital remains open and there is no significant impact on patient care while the crash remains under investigation.
