A 79-year-old man died after crashing head-on into a COTA bus Monday night in Hilliard.
Sami Khater died in the crash that happened about 8 p.m. in the 4800 block of Cemetery Road.
Khater was driving an Acura station wagon east on Cemetery Road when he crossed the center line and struck the bus head-on, a Hilliard police spokeswoman and the coroner’s office said.
Khater was transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Hilliard police spokesperson Andrea Litchfield said.
While an autopsy will be conducted, complications from diabetes and glucose levels are suspected of playing a role in the crash, the coroner’s office said.
