Somali Gov. to ensure airlines are not affected by travel restrictions


Somali’s minister of transport and civil aviation Duran Ahmed Farah met with the Somali committee of airlines to discuss a joint approach to ensure the airline companies are not affected by the recent travel restrictions against Somalia.

“The government of Somalia is working with the airline industry to minimize the negative impact of the travel restrictions and to enable the industry to continue their operations.” Duran said on Wednesday.

He also underscored the Somali government’s commitment to advancing aviation cooperation with countries in the region.

Kenya on May 11 suspended all flights to Somalia, with the exception of humanitarian deliveries and medical evacuation flights, this is according to a notice by the aviation regulator, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA)
